The Day that Spring Sprung!

This photo pretty much depicts the weather in the UK this Spring - daffodils in the background, with snow tumbling from the sky in the foreground.  I remember this day very clearly as it was slap bang in the middle of the Easter holidays. We were watching a film, cuddled up on the sofa and as I glanced out of the window, I  couldn't quite believe my eyes....I honestly thought we had seen the last of the snow.

Then just three days later, we had our first proper Spring day and as if by magic, the mood lifted....

Everyone spent the afternoon doing what they love most: The Boy made fire; The Tween gave her swing an airing; The Teenager threw some shapes on the trampoline; the OH got to work on his beloved garden; and 'It' basked in the sunshine whilst chewing on a stick. Simple pleasures.

So where was I?  Well I was indoors, giving our house a much-needed spruce up - it's amazing what a bit of sunshine can do for the motivation, isn't it?!

I've been saving these photos for Older Mum in a Muddle's One Week linky which is running this week. Please click on the link to visit more Spring posts.  I've also linked with R2BC this week because if ever there's a reason to smile, the arrival of Spring is it!

  1. Oh Suzanne, you make me long for a garden. We only have a tiny balcony and I crave a more time sat on the back door step, drinking a cup of tea with my feet on the grass. Such lovely, lovely photos x

Awesome pictures - you've captured the jump brilliantly. How many attempts did it take?

  9. Lovely pics. It definitely puts a 'spring' in your step! (No pun intended!) I find that since the weather has improved it's so much easier to get out of bed in the morning and am generally happier throughout the day - as are the kids. If only it was like this all year round! x
