It's been a while....

Reasons to be Cheerful at Mummy from the HeartForgive me for not joining in with Mummy from the Heart's R2BC (Reasons to be Cheerful) linky for so long.  It's not that I didn't have anything to be cheerful about, more that I had so many other things to blog about!

This week, I am exploding with positivity so thought I would share my reasons to be cheerful with you:

1.  In case you hadn't already noticed, my lovely blog has been shortlisted for a BiB Award (Brilliance in Blogging) in the Family cateogry!  I am thankful for this on so many levels: I never for a second thought my blog might get through; my hard work has been recognised for something that I love doing; and I might just have 'legal' entry to the party after Britmums Live!  But most importantly, 3 Children and It stands alongside so many other amazing blogs which have also been shorlisted - written by people whose lives I have been reading about for 12 months now and can't wait to meet!

2. As a blogger, I occasionally get offered things to review.  If I'm absolutely honest, some of  those items are pretty naff (shampoo, clothing that I would never wear, a new flavour of crisps). Who wants to read about that? But then there are times when I get offered something really rather fab. This is one of those times. We're going to Thorpe Park!  As you can imagine, my kids were suddenly rather proud that Mum is a blogger and cannot wait to tell you all about their favourite rides.....tune in next week to find out if I manage to overcome my deep-rooted fear of rollercoasters and my frustrated 'adrenaline junkie' of a son, is tall enough to go on any of the rides!

3. Aside from writing and being a mum, I also have a part-time job; one which doesn't get mentioned here very much.  That job is about to change somewhat and I will be embarking on a few new things - more marketing and social media related (maybe even some blogging!).  I am looking forward to having something new to focus on and watching how that evolves.

4. At last it would seem that Spring has arrived. Longer evenings, playing in the garden, freshly cut grass and early morning sun streaming through the curtains, all combine to make for a much happier household.  Strange how something as simple as a glimmer of sunshine can do that isn't it?

5. Today I met up with an old friend - someone I first forged a friendship with a little over 13 years ago.  Sadly, for the last 2, we have had very little contact (for no reason other than our ridiculously busy lives!), but along with her husband and children, she will always hold a very special place in my heart. As a couple, they are patrons of a bereavement charity (I've written about their story here).  Their charity, Child Bereavement UK, are in the process of putting together a programme for schools, to assist children through the grieving process.  I am hoping that my children's school will be participating in the 'Elephants Tea Party' and this was the purpose of our meeting today.  It was so lovely to see her and I will be blogging about their initiative in a later post.

6. Like most people, I love having things to look forward to.  Party season is almost upon us, in the form of Tween 1's 13th Birthday and my mother's 70th  - let the celebrations commence!  Rest assured, there will be more on that in future posts....

But for now, if you enjoy reading my blog and think that it is a worthy recipient of the Family BiB Award, then I would be hugely grateful for your vote. Please click on the badge and put a tick next to 3 Children and It.  I really value your support. x

  2. You deserve to be a finalist and that's a fact. Doing those reviews does have advantages and if your kids are going to Thorpe Park that must be a real bonus! Have a great time.
