When you first started out blogging, I bet you spent hours constructing a new post - scrutinizing every sentence for spelling and grammar mistakes, re-reading it a hundred times to ensure you had written it to the best of your ability and thinking of original material that was entirely your own work. The only downfall to those early days, was the number of visitors to your blog - most of us had very few readers - our mum, our best friend and sometimes our long-suffering spouse (if we were lucky!)
Earlier on this week, Sarah at Mum of Three World, tweeted me a link to an old post of hers, it was so funny that I actually laughed out loud! She told me that she had written it at a time when followers were scarce and this particular post had very few comments and not many page views. I quickly realised what a crime this was and voila! a new bloghop was born....
So, if you've got any old posts that you thought were sheer brilliance but sadly not many people were privvy to your comic wit or your literary talent, please link up below. I intend to put this out for the masses every Friday, and it will stay open until last thing on Sunday.
Each week there will be a theme and this week it is 'FUNNIES'
Here are the bloghop rules:
1) Enter your link and leave a comment below
2) Enter as many posts as you like
3) Your post must be at least 3 months old
4) Tweet using the #oldiesbutgoodies
5) Visit as many of the other blogs as you can and comment, comment, comment!

This is such a nice idea. Love it!
ReplyDeleteHope it works....some of these posts were wasted!
DeleteThe is a wonderful idea, I love it
ReplyDeleteI'm just a newbie and have only been blogging for a month but i'll bookmark this to come back when i've got older blogs.

Even if you're still a newbie, check out some of the posts that have linked up and have a giggle!
DeleteWhat a totally brilliant idea. Well done you. Thanks for giving us a chance to dust off some of the old ones. xx
ReplyDeleteNo Problem at all, it's a shame that some of them didn't get the accolade they deserved first time round :)
DeleteGreat idea - thank you. Two of mine are both seven years old (gulp...) Youngest son arrested as a terrorist and Dad bottles out of a vasectomy. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteLoved the vasectomy post - have you still 'bottled it'?!

DeleteBrilliant idea! Linked the 2nd ever post I wrote quite odd reading it again and resisted the urge to edit it! Gonna settle down to some blog reading x
ReplyDeleteGood for you for not editing (I'm always doing that!) Have read it and about to comment- great post :)
DeleteGreat idea Suzanne! I will go through my old posts, though I think a lot of them might be pregnancy related so might not be ideal to reshare those. But I love the idea of reading some great old posts XXXX
ReplyDeleteThanks Louise....I'm going to have a different theme every week so although you may not be able to link up every week, hopefully you can others. Thanks for commenting anyway x x
DeleteOhh looks like this is going down a storm, well done. A couple of people have have used this idea before but I don't think anyone is doing it right now. They both used to get good link ups.
ReplyDeleteMich x
Thanks for your encouragement Mich :) I've never seen a linky like this before so thought it was a good idea to give older posts an airing - if only for me to see some of the oldies as I'm pretty much a newbie! x
DeleteGreat idea :)
